The Project

Harman Audio / JBL wanted to improve their shoppers’ experience in finding car speakers. I helped plan, design, and prototype a Car Fit Finder eCommerce application for both websites. The two key points of focus were 1. to build a logic into the interface that maximized the use of the existing product CMS database, and 2. to ensure that multiple searches could be conducted without the user having to start from square one.

The Approach

With priority on a mobile-first design, I designed an adaptive section to “grow” with the different states of the application to avoid wasting space while providing sufficient signifiers to help guide the user through the steps. I also helped optimize the user experience by adapting the concept for the different use cases throughout the site and demonstrating this through multiple prototypes.
